I thought I was old – but maybe not
The other day I decided to check and see how many power point files I’m storing on my computer and server. I found some really old stuff and when browsing through the files (that I had trouble open since I started out on Macs in the early 90s and now using a PC a couple of cycles of Moore’s later), I realized that some of my early works won’t be find now matter how hard I configure my search engine. They were transparencies. Used on noisy overhead projectors. I remember when you could print your transparencies on the laser printer – and frame them. Oh, the modern world! And how you had to be really careful before clicking “print” – each transparency sheet was half a fortune – and once printed – you could not change them of course.
I had to Google to see a picture – and to my surprise, these really do exist. I thought they were stored in the cellars of museums. You can buy a new overhead projector for a little over $100. Maybe I have to have one in the office just for old times sake…
